A member shall not assign this lease nor sublet the dwelling unit without first notifying co-op life . Co-op life agrees said consent will not be withheld unless the proposed replacement Member is found to be unsuitable, based on the same criteria used to evaluate the original Member. The proposed replacement Member must be formally approved by the Co-op and enter into a Co-op Sublet Membership Agreement and Contract. If there are multiple rooms open for sub leasing at the time that you are sub leasing and your potential sub leaser comes to a membership dinner but chooses a different room then your own you are NOT relinquished from your sub lease obligations. Your lease obligation is to your room specifically and for the full term of your lease.
Although the responsibility of sub leasing your bedroom rests on you as the sub leaser not the house or co-op life. But both tries to foster a proactive culture of actively helping fill the house up. By notifying co-op life of your intention to sub lease then co-op life can any short term co-op inquiries to you.
